I've repaired the existing nut by using superglue to fill the slots and then re-cutting them. The slots need to be re-aligned with a larger string spread, but in this particular situation, this nut will do. I replaced the bridge with one I bought for $10 at a guitar show, adjusted the bridge for the flatter radius, restrung, and then readjusted the truss rod. It sounds mostly clear, but has buzzes and a not very noticeable dip (more than normal relief) in the center of the neck.
