I decided to refinish the Peavey body, too, and chose Auto-Air Sparkle Flake Colors-Emerald Flake as the finish. I have two paint guns and a compressor, and I'm learning how to use them. The paint seemed expensive at $33 per bottle and needs its own primer, reducer, and cleaner. Hmmm... Today I've started sanding down the body and removing all the old finish, which I'm guessing was natural lacquer. The guitar body, in spite of its age, has hardly any dings, dents, or scratches, so this part of the process is pretty simple.
