Today I've been using Bull's Eye SealCoat to seal the filled hole in the neck. I brushed on several coats; each coat dries pretty quickly. I also removed the tuners.

Rusty: Wichita Falls, TX, United States; I am a musician teaching myself to be a luthier. I have played guitar for most of my life and spent fifteen years in the Texas band SAGE. I have worked in a number of other music-related venues as well; this includes private music teaching, music retailing, and music therapy at a state psychiatric hospital. I enjoy writing songs, playing a variety of instruments, and listening to music. I originally began this blog to record my progress in learning the art and craft of the luthier. My goal is to rework twelve bolt-on electric guitars in a quest to create the perfect-sounding guitar.

Guitars and Amplifiers

I've owned and played so many guitars: Gibson ES335, SG, and Les Paul Custom and standard; Fender Stratocasters and Telecasters, and Aria Pro II, to name just a few. My actual favorite is a Jackson Dinky.

As for amplifiers, I've owned and worked on a Fender black-face Super Reverb with about 45 watts and four tens; Fender twin; Fender Bassman; Acoustic amp with four tens; an old Gibson amp with one ten and supposedly 45 watts; Silvertone with two 6L6s; several different Peavey amps (the last Peavey amp was a Renown); Holmes 2-12 amp; Marshall 50-watt head, which has been a favorite (several Marshall 4-10 cabinets); Rocktron Velocity head; Behringer V-ampire 120 head; and many others that I am just not remembering right now.
